Stage 7 is deciding that you no longer want to be materially involved in your business – either you want to be that person who walks in once a month and everybody whispers “that’s the one who started the business” – (i.e. you become the “myth”), or you build it to sell it and get out, using the time and money it has given you to continue doing something significant.

As is the case with Stage 6 Significance, take the time to write down your Lifetime Goals (things you can never check off) and your Ideal Situation to living them out. Get serious about when you want to be there (your “Business Maturity Date”), and take the time to develop a simple Business Strategy to keep you on track. Process Map your business, and get “Outside Eyes” to tell you the truth about what it will take to get you here.
